Field Trip – Rock Talk with Dr. Gary Gianniny (FLC) – Rescheduled to Sat, Oct 30

FreeThe Four Corners Geological Society is pleased to announce our first “Talks on the Rocks”. This will be a half-day informal field trip to a local Durango site where participants will observe and discuss local strata.
What: Half-day field looking at the depositional facies and bedforms of the Jurassic Entrada and Junction Creek (Bluff) Sandstones (eolian sandstones) of Durango.

When: Saturday, October 30th from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm.
Where: East Animas Climbing area on CR 250
Hike Difficulty: Short hike with moderate elevation gain (less than 500 ft) on a steep rocky trail.
Registration: Limited to 15 society members. Registration begins at 8:00 am on Friday, October 8. Look for the RSVP button on this page to reserve your spot.
Logistics: Participants will be emailed additional information, meeting location, directions, and waiver.
